Drôme: His mini-excavator disappears, the police find the thief thanks to geolocation

Funny surprise for a resident of Grignan ( Drôme ). On Monday morning, he noticed that his mini-excavator, a machine of construction site used for earthworks, had been stolen . He immediately alerted the police and filed a complaint, reports The Dauphiné Libéré . The gendarmes The municipality then opened an investigation into the crime.
The military, who were in charge of the investigation, did not encounter any major difficulties in finding the stolen machine. The latter was in fact equipped with a GPS beacon. Thanks to this, the investigators discovered that the mini-excavator was in the countryside in the Valréas area (Vaucluse).
The police went to the scene and found the construction equipment at the home of a man who had started to detach parts. The latter was unable to explain to them why the mini-excavator was at his home. Arrested and taken into custody, he then allegedly admitted the facts. He will be summoned to court in early July as part of an appearance on prior admission of guilt.
