[True Story] An Excavator Found at Fayolle
The company Fayolle & Fils has equipped its most valuable construction equipment with TiFiz tags.
This month, the Public Works sector team noticed the disappearance of one of its machines…
The site manager immediately geolocated the mini-excavator on the TiFiz online account, which lists all the company’s equipment fitted with tags. (…)
The machine was located just a few kilometers from its parking area. An off-site zone!
Thus, once on site and the equipment properly identified, the police were alerted to apprehend the culprit.
The TiFiz geofencing feature allows remote monitoring of the tag’s position and movement.
If the TiFiz moves outside the predefined perimeter, an alert will be automatically sent to the tag owner, via mobile notification and email.
The alert provides the tag’s position through a clickable GPS link, allowing it to be geolocated on a map.
This zone is very simply configured from a computer via the tag’s user account, or on site via the TiFiz mobile app interface.
It is possible to define a geographic zone from 250m to 5km, either by adjusting the zone slider or by entering an address.
On mobile, it’s very simple: by sliding the map with your finger and long-pressing the desired spot on the map.
As illustrated here, via the mobile app on a smartphone (left) or via a browser on a PC (right):

Did you know?
Construction companies are particularly exposed to:
- theft of construction machinery and vehicles along with their contents,
- theft of materials and technical equipment,
- theft of tools and small equipment,
- various damages,
- etc. etc.
"The cost of these thefts and other criminal acts on construction sites is overall estimated by the FFB at a minimum of 1% of the construction sector’s turnover, that is more than one billion euros!"
