[True Story] A digger found at Fayolle's
The Company Fayolle & Sons has equipped its most valuable construction site equipment with TiFiz beacons.
This month, the Public Works team noticed the disappearance of one of its machines...
The site manager immediately geolocated the mini-excavator on the TiFiz internet account, which lists all the Company's equipment equipped with beacons. (…)
The machine was located just a few kilometers from its parking area. An area outside the construction site!
So, once on site, and the equipment clearly identified, the police services were alerted to arrest the culprit.
TiFiz's geofencing feature allows you to remotely monitor the position and movement of the beacon.
If TiFiz deviates from the predefined perimeter, an alert will be automatically sent to the owner of the tag, by mobile notification and by email.
The alert gives the position of the beacon via a clickable GPS link, thus allowing it to be geolocated on a map.
This area is very easily configured from a computer via the beacon user account, or, in the field, from the TiFiz mobile application interface.
It is possible to define a geographic area, from 250m to 5km, either by playing with the area cursor or by indicating an address.
On mobile, it's very simple, by sliding the map with your finger and making a long press at the desired location on the map.
As shown here, via the mobile app on a smartphone (left) or via a browser on a PC (right):

Did you know?
Construction companies are particularly exposed to:
- theft of construction machinery and vehicles with their contents,
- theft of materials and technical equipment,
- theft of tools and small equipment,
- various damages,
- etc etc
"The cost of these thefts and other criminal acts on construction sites is globally estimated by the FFB at a minimum of 1% of the construction industry's turnover, or more than a billion euros!"
