Here is a brief summary of how this type of Low Power tracker works on the SIGFOX network:

This tracker activates as soon as it moves, and it attempts to report its position every 10 minutes (otherwise once a day).
For the point to be reported, the two conditions below must be met:

1. The tracker must be able to get the GPS position... preferably outside to see the satellites (in a car outside it works).
2. There must be Sigfox network coverage (see www.sigfox.com/coverage)... and the object should not be moving too much (i.e., the vehicle is mostly stopped).

If one of the conditions is NOK, the tracker will try again 10 minutes later.

The number of points reported therefore depends greatly on conditions, knowing that this tracker aims to remain Low Power to preserve its battery life.

Finally, know that on the move this type of network is not very efficient, so points will mostly be reported when the vehicle is stopped (if the tracker is in a vehicle...).

You see? It's curious. Ted did figure it out - time travel. And when we get back, we're going to tell everyone. How it's possible, how it's done, what the dangers are. But then why fifty years in the future when the spacecraft encounters a black hole does the computer call it an 'unknown entry event'? Why don't they know? If they don't know, that means we never told anyone. And if we never told anyone it means we never made it back. Hence we die down here. Just a matter of deductive logic.
